Olive oil nourishes and softens the skin, and is rich in oleic acid and polyphenols, which research shows help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress, protecting the skin from premature aging (Gil et al., 2018).

Together they provide gentle, effective cleaning without harsh chemicals, artificial perfumes or microplastics, which is not only better for your skin, but also for the water you flush down the drain.

Cold soap making is a traditional technique in which oils and lye are slowly mixed to induce saponification, the process by which oils are transformed into soap. Unlike commercial soaps, cold soaps retain their natural glycerin, a powerful humectant.

Studies show that glycerin is one of the most effective humectants: it attracts moisture from the air and helps maintain the skin's barrier function, preventing dryness and irritation (Fluhr et al., 2008). Most mass-produced soaps remove the glycerin for use in lotions. That's why your skin often feels dry and tight after using conventional soap.

Using cold-pressed soap allows your skin to naturally regulate its moisture levels , keeping it healthy and hydrated without the need for additional creams or lotions.

While commercial soap is mass-produced in a matter of hours, this cold-pressed soap matures for weeks, resulting in a smoother texture and a longer-lasting bar of soap.

Soap bars are not only more environmentally friendly, but also very cost-effective when stored properly. For a longer lifespan and to maintain quality, let the soap air dry by storing it in a dry place , such as a soap dish with good drainage, on a loofah , or in a sisal soap pouch. Aluminum containers are a convenient solution for travel, but be sure to let the bar dry thoroughly first.
